Lose 10 Pounds Without Hitting the Gym

may not have a personal trainer or a diet regimen, but with the right makeup tools and techniques, you can still look like you have shed some weight. Here's what I tell my clients:

Use the correct shade of foundation
It's important for women of color, for instance, to begin with a shade that's lighter than their own. When your skin is more oily, the makeup will oxidize and turn darker. So if you begin with a shade that matches your skin, within a half an hour, after the makeup oxidizes, your face is now at least one or two shades darker than the rest of your body. The key is to stay with foundations that have a warm honey tone.

Define cheekbones and hide double chins
You can create shadows by simply using a darker shade of blush or foundation. With a brush, use the thin part to create the chiseling of the cheekbone. Find the correct spot to shade by sucking in your cheeks. Apply the darker shade under your cheekbone. With the same brush and shadow, apply on the edges of a double chin or yawl area. You can also minimize the size of a forehead this way. Just remember that when you are shading, don't stop. Make sure the color is blended.

Create contour and add dimension
The key to contouring is by using dark and light shades strategically placed to accentuate and create a 3D type of effect.

For a thinner smaller nose
Use a thin brush (about the size of your pinky). Draw a line down the nose, beginning with the eyebrows to the tip of the nose on both sides. The key to having those lines not look like railroad tracks, is by blending, blending, blending.

Reshape your lips
Use a pencil to line your lips. Apply it 3/4 of the way inside your lips -- not all the way to the outside edges. Then when you apply the gloss, smooth out that pencil line going all the way out to the edges of the lips. This way, there will be a smooth transition and the highlight on the color of the pencil will blend and appear in the center of the lips.
