How To Make Your Skin Glowing In One Day?

Steam your face

Steaming the face is the best way to thoroughly deep clean your pores. Steaming the face once a week for example is very important to loosen debris that may be embedded into the skin. When steaming the face you widen any clogged pores and soften the skin in order to cleanse more easily the impurities, the traces of makeup, the dust, the sebaceous secretions as well as the dead skin cells.
Boil a pan of water with herbs ( for oily skin you can use thyme, peppermint or lemon; for sensitive and dry skin use chamomile or lime; for normal skin can use rosemary or lavender) and steam your face for approximately 10/ 15 minutes.

Gently exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin gently straight after steaming your face is probably the best way to make your skin glowing again as you will be able to remove debris, makeup that might have been clogged into your pores and most importantly you will remove the dead skin cells that usually leave to dull, patchy complexion. Use a mild exfoliator that suits your skin type and scrub with gentle circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Don’t exfoliate your skin for more than 2/ 3 minutes, otherwise you can irritate it.

Remember: When you exfoliate your face you remove the dead surface skin cells and the oil that cause pores to plug and lead to problems like blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and acne.

Apply a mask
The best time for applying facial mask is after steaming your face, because the pores are open and the mask will be able to penetrate deeply into the skin. Choose a face mask that suits your skin type and apply it once or twice a week. A brightening mask works great to bring back the glow to your face buy you might decide to try another mask – there are great firming, nourishing, purifying and hydrating facial masks on the market specially designed for every skin type.

Nourish you skin
You cannot expect to have glowing skin if you don’t nourish it properly. Right before going to bed apply a thick layer of nourishing face cream. Look for a product that contains more natural ingredients such as Aloe Vera, honey, chamomile, almond oil, olive oil, vitamins (especially vitamin C), minerals and essential oils. In the morning cleanse your face with a mild facial cleanser and gently massage your face with light, circular motions to improve blood circulation and to make your skin glowing.

Makeup for glowing skin

You can make your skin glow with the appropriate makeup products. It’s essential to apply a moisturizer or a hydrating face cream every morning no matter your skin type or age.

Choose a sheer liquid foundation and apply it onto a cleansed and well-moisturized face. If you want to make your foundation flawless-looking and to make it stay put on for longer consider applying a makeup primer before the foundation. The aim of a primer is to prepare the skin for the makeup application, to pamper the skin and creating a protective base for longer- lasting, natural looking foundation.

Consider applying a light-reflecting face powder if your skin is absolutely clear – free of pimples, scars, blackheads, whiteheads, brown spots and other skin imperfections. Apply the powder with a big, round powder brush over the entire face or only to the cheeks.

Use a blush in pink or peachy shade as these shades suit almost everyone and look more natural. Apply the blusher with a blush brush and build the color gradually. Use a powder blush as it last longer than a cream or gel blush. Choose brighter shades as they will make your skin glow and will freshen your skin.

Lipsticks or lip glosses in brighter shades will also make your skin glow. First outline your lips with a nude lip pencil or with a natural-toned lip liner and use a lipstick brush to apply the color evenly. Remove the excess with a tissue and then apply a second layer for a more saturated lip color and for a longer-lasting lipstick color.

Useful Beauty Tips:

Look Younger By Morning

During the day, you know what it takes to keep your skin looking youthful: sunscreen, sunscreen and more sunscreen. (Experts recommend using one with an SPF of at least 15 every day of the year.) But what you may not know is that there are things you can do at night to look younger, to make your skin glow and to actually repair your skin.

Stubborn fine lines, enlarged pores and even puffy, tired eyes can be erased (or reduced) by morning if you take the proper steps at night, says Monique Klein, owner of Monique K. Skin Care Boutique. And if your complexion is already practically perfect, nighttime is the right time to indulge in some preventive care.

  • Always thoroughly wash your face before you go to bed. Never hit the pillow without removing the day's grime as well as sunscreen and other products from your skin.
  • To look younger, apply a quick-drying mask twice a week. If you want to tighten your pores, Monique recommends using an exfoliator like Aveda's Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Masque. For dry skin, she suggests Aveda's Intensive Hydrating Masque. Let the mask sit for 10 minutes or until it's dry, and then gently remove it with warm water and a washcloth.

Liberally moisturize your face and your neck with an overnight cream containing alpha-hydroxyls or retinols. Monique likes Clinique’s Repairwear Intensive Night Cream (good for really dry skin) and Intensive Night Lotion (better for oily or acne-prone complexions). You shouldn't use these creams in the daytime, because they increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun's UVA and UVB rays.

Shore up the vulnerable skin around your eyes by slathering on a collagen-filled cream like Lancome’s Oligo Minerale, a multimineral, multivitamin, fortifying serum that combats the signs of aging caused by stress and pollution.

Monique's favorite trick to look younger involves how you lie down on the bed — or, more accurately, how not to lie down. She suggests getting several firm pillows (not goose-feather ones, which can get lumpy) and stacking them so that you can recline while keeping your upper torso slightly elevated, as if you were sleeping in the first-class cabin of an airplane. It may sound wacky, but it prevents fluids from gathering around your eyes. You'll wake up without a trace of puffiness— honestly.

Avoid sleeping on your side. Not only will it cause puffiness, but it will also create creases in your face that, over time, could turn into fine lines and wrinkles. Sleep on your back whenever possible, Monique counsels, and especially the night before you want to look your best.

In the morning, gently wash your face. Avoid using soaps or harsh astringents that are drying. While your skin is still damp, apply a moisturizer, and make sure this one contains sunscreen. You've got to protect your newly rejuvenated skin from the sun's harmful rays. Gently pat on an under-eye firming cream, and let everything settle in for at least 20 minutes before you put on the rest of your makeup.

For special occasions, says Monique, give your complexion extra zest by following this special skin-friendly diet for 24 hours: Drink plenty of water (at least 8 ounces at a time), snack on spinach and fresh berries — strawberries, blackberries or blueberries are best — and have a nice healthy piece of salmon for lunch or dinner. The antioxidants and omega-3s in these foods plump up skin cells, and the water restores elasticity.

Bright Eyes

You wake up, ready to carpe the diem and then you look in the mirror. What's staring back at you: dark circles, puffy bags, fine lines.

The only fix is to break out the Jackie O-style sunglasses, right? Not necessarily. Eye troubles such as these are common, especially as women age. Luckily, there's help. The first step is to understand the underlying causes of such eye imperfections. Then all you need is the right treatment tactics and makeup tricks, plus targeted products, to get the wide-open, radiant look you want.

And those sunglasses? Save them for the paparazzi.

For fine lines

The culprit: The eye area is full of muscles, so every smile, frown and squint causes the skin to wrinkle up. As collagen deep in the skin decreases over time, those wrinkles don't go away. If your skin is dry, they may be more noticeable.

Treatment: Use an eye cream, either in the morning or at night. Choose a cream with ingredients that are proven to protect collagen, recommends Heidi Waldorf, a dermatologist in New York City. Skip plain eye creams that only moisturize, because they don't do much to help wrinkles. For daytime, go for one that contains peptides to stimulate collagen growth and antioxidants to fight collagen breakdown. Be sure the cream contains a sunscreen. If you prefer to use eye cream at night, pick one with retinol, which many doctors consider one of the best ingredients to reduce the signs of aging.

Makeup strategies: Keep wrinkled skin free of concealer, as it can settle into lines and make them more noticeable. Draw attention elsewhere by applying three tiny dots of eye-highlighting cream at the inner corners of your eyes and along the tops of your cheekbones (as above), says Matin Maulawizada, a makeup artist in New York City. Tap into the skin with a fingertip.

As for shadows and liners, stick with matte.

For puffiness

The culprit: Most likely, it's fluid retention. When you eat salty foods or drink a lot of alcohol, your body can draw extra fluids into its tissues and hold them in. The fluids can pool under your eyes, causing puffiness.

Treatment: Apply a cold compress to your eyes for 10 minutes. "The cold brings swelling down," says James R. Lyons, a plastic surgeon in Westport, Conn. Good choices include chilled teaspoons, a sliced cucumber or cold, wet tea bags. Follow with a firming eye cream that contains caffeine. This ingredient is a vasoconstrictor, so it helps expel fluid from cells in the skin and depuffs quickly, says Audrey Kunin, a dermatologist in Kansas City, Mo., and the founder of DERMAdoctor.com.

Makeup strategies: Define your brows with a brow pencil, then use a taupe or brown liner with a touch of eye-brightening shimmer along the upper lashes. Smudge the liner with a cotton swab to soften it. Add two coats of mascara to the top lashes, then apply a single light coat to the bottom lashes. Whatever you do, don't apply concealer directly on top of puffy bags. "If you do, you'll make the puffiness stand out even more," Maulawizada says.

For dark circles

The culprit: That purply color usually is caused by dark veins showing through. Some people have genetically thinner and more see-through skin under their eyes, but skin also becomes increasingly translucent as collagen decreases with age. Dark circles also can form when the tiny channels inside veins under the eyes weaken over time. This causes the veins to dilate and the blood inside to pool. A lack of sleep can make blood vessels dilate, too.

Treatment: Use an eye cream to plump skin from the outside, which will make the veins underneath less visible. Choose a cream with subtle light-reflecting pigments to further bright- en the area and gentle skin-lightening ingredients, such as kojic acid and vitamin K.

Makeup strategies: Opt for a concealer with a yellow undertone, which neutralizes the purple tone of dark circles. Apply concealer with a thin makeup brush. Start at the inner corners, where the circles are darkest, and gently pat outward to where darkness fades, usually about halfway across the lower lids. Tap gently with a finger to blend. Avoid plum and blue eye shadows, which accentuate circles, and stick to neutral colors, such as taupe and mocha.

Skin Care Resolutions You Can Keep

Cutting out caffeine, anyone? No more desserts? Aiming to exercise five times a week? Or lose 10 pounds the first week in January? When it comes to New Year's resolutions, we've heard (and promised) it all. We'd like to suggest a radical departure this year: a few resolutions that are not only easy to keep, but can make a real difference in your appearance and keep you looking younger longer. Yes, we said easy. And it is ‑-as easy as washing your face. See for yourself with this advice from some of the country's top skin care experts:

Resolution #1: I will wear sunscreen every day. We know you know this is important. But do you do it? In case you've forgotten, let's review the facts. Sun exposure, even 15 minutes of it midday, can damage skin and lead to fine lines, discoloration and loss of elasticity down the road. These conditions age you before your time. Sun exposure is cumulative. That means you will not see today's sun damage today. When you do see it, it will be too late. Experts suggest you wear a daily SPF of 15 and use SPF 30 if you're skiing or at the beach.

Resolution #2: I will wash and moisturize my face morning and night. It sounds basic, right? But it's amazing how many women don't do this. "Never, never, never sleep in makeup," proclaims Jamie Ahn, owner of the day spa Acqua Beauty Bar in New York City. "Even noncomedogenic makeup will clog pores if you don't take it off." If you haven't figured out the ideal regimen for you, it's never too late to start. Begin with a gentle cleanser. (Look for one that doesn't foam; foaming cleansers contains detergents, which are harsh.) Use a toner if you're oily, and apply a moisturizer that contains antioxidants like vitamin C. Of course, there are a thousand variations on this theme. Once you start with a simple regimen, you can investigate products formulated for your specific skin issues. You may want to try an alpha-hydroxy acid product if your skin is dull or look for salicylic acid if you have acne. When in doubt, ask. Get a facial and ask for recommendations, suggests Ahn, or talk to the company representatives behind the counters in department stores.

Resolution #3: I will use an eye cream. "If you invest in a good eye cream, you will not be sorry," says Ahn. "The skin around your eyes is the most fragile on your face. It's the first skin to age. This is the skin that gets puffy when we cry and gets dark circles when we're tired." There's a range of eye creams, and each cream has different benefits, she notes. "I love Phyto-Contour from Yon-Ka because it contains rosemary, which is good for puffiness." For fine lines, Ahn recommends Epicurean Eye Cream and Sonya Dakar's Oxygen Eye Cream.

Resolution #4: I will get a facial at least four times a year. "Prebook a seasonal facial today," advises Ahn. "Ideally you would get a facial every month, but if you can't, at least get one every three months. If it's in your schedule, you'll make time for it." The benefits, she says, are many. "Whether you need deep cleansing or deep moisturizing, an aesthetician can get better results than you can get at home," she notes. In addition, most day spas offer a number of peels and other procedures, such as microdermabrasion, that can deal with specific problems, like discolorations and sagging skin.

Little Bumps On The Skin

Although the bumps on the face and body may look the same, they are actually two different afflictions. The small bumps on your face are blocked sweat ducts called milia, and commonly occur around the eyes and on the cheeks. They are remarkably resistant, despite appearances to the contrary, so don't try to pop them at home.

You'll need to see a dermatologist to totally eradicate milia. First, she may prescribe either an alpha hydroxy acid-basedmoisturizerorRetin-Ato loosen up the milia and make them easier to extract. After a couple of weeks of following this regimen, the dermatologist will then be able to draw out the milia by taking a small needle and gently opening the surface of the bump, then squeezing out the trapped matter with a comedone extractor.

To keep milia from recurring, the doctor may recommend a skincare regimen incorporating either alpha hydroxy acid or Retin-A, combined with monthlyglycolic acidpeels for serious cases.

The bumps found on the arms are called keratosis pilaris, and are little bits of keratinproduced by the hair follicles. People who are predisposed to allergies, exzema and hay fever are the most likely to develop them. Although keratosis pilaris is often a recurring condition, it is easily treated with regular use of a prescription-strength alpha hyrdroxy acid-based lotion. If the affected area frequently gets irritated and red, your dermatologist may also add atopicalsteroid cream or ointment to help ease the irritation.
